Dr. Blake Powell was raised in Oregon, OH and a 2007 graduate of Toledo Christian High School. After undergraduate schooling at both DePauw University and The Ohio State University, Dr. Blake received his doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2014. Dr. Blake has the most up-to-date training possible. Training for the management and evaluation of ocular disease such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye and diabetic eye care. As part of Dr. Blake’s training he completed an ocular disease externship at the Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C.. He also has extensive training with LASIK and cataract co-management, binocular vision disorders, as well as expertise in fitting difficult contact lenses such as scleral contact lenses, rigid gas-permeable lenses (RGP), and hybrid contact lenses. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, and the Toledo Area Optometric Society. Dr. Blake enjoys golfing and playing basketball and is active in his local church and the Gideons International.
